Trail Description
20th East Trailhead
(2.15 miles – dirt)
Head south on the trail that crosses Corner Canyon Rd 0.25 mile from the trailhead. The trail slowly climbs as it enters Corner Canyon, meeting a trail coming up from the Equestrian Center Trailhead. At this point part of the BST splits, one branch continuing to the Point of the Mountain Flight Park and the other climbing Corner Canyon and connecting to Utah County. The trail climbs in the bottom of the canyon, then rises on the southern slope opposite Corner Canyon Rd. The trail meets the road at the top of the climb near the Suncrest Trailhead.
Suncrest Trailhead
(2.75 miles – dirt)
At the top of the climb, turn to the east and continue climbing along the ridge. The trail climbs 400 feet in the next mile before descending into Utah County. Always stay left, as various trails split off to the right. The
Fort Canyon Trailhead
(1.55 miles – dirt)
Take the road uphill to the northeast and climb as the road narrows for 0.65 mile. Turn right onto a wide trail and descend toward Big Hollow. The trail turns and runs down the bottom of Big Hollow past a water tank and exits at Aspen Drive.
Alpine Cove Trailhead
(2.9 miles – paved and dirt)
Head east and take Oakridge Dr. south, then east on Grove Dr. to Box Elder Canyon. About 100 yards before the end of the road, take the trail south. The trail descends gently and then climbs to the mouth of Wadsworth Canyon. As you descend on the other side of the canyon, take the first left and stay on the high single track that rolls south above the homes. The trail passes above the cluster of a half dozen homes, descends a couple of switchbacks and then exits onto Preston Dr. near a very large home. Descend the street and enter a circle on the left just after the bend.
Preston Canyon Trailhead
(1.5 miles – dirt)
Take the trail south from the circle and climb to the foot of the mountain. The trail continues south along the foot of the mountain, passing above homes and a gravel pit and then descending with switchbacks to a parking lot next to a water storage pond.
American Fork Canyon Trailhead
(1.4 miles – paved)
From the parking lot head south on the bike path along Highway 146. Follow Highway 146 until you reach a large LDS church, then cross the highway to a dirt pullout.
Cedar Hills Trailhead
(3.9 miles – dirt)
Climb the hill on the steep trail. Climb about 100 feet for the lower, wide trail or keep going about 200 feet for the higher path. On either trail head south past the water tank and about a mile of homes. The high path descends onto the lower trail half as you pass the homes. Continue south winding through various ravines and passing above three or four small gravel pits until you reach a large debris basin at the mouth of Grove Canyon.
Grove Creek Trailhead
(1.2 miles – dirt)
Continue south, a choice of a high or low path. Both come together at the next canyon where another large debris basin is located.
Battle Creek Trailhead
(2.25 miles – dirt)
Continue south climbing on the steep trail out of the canyon. The trail climbs 500 to 700 feet above the homes below. There is still a choice of multiple trails to follow. Whichever you choose, you must climb onto the bench 500 feet above the homes. Work your way south to Dry Canyon.
Dry Canyon Trailhead
(0.75 miles – dirt)
From the parking lot the trail continues south along the foot of the mountain. Wind through four small ravines and the cross a paved road near a buried water tank.
Cascade Dr. Trailhead
(0.65 miles – dirt)
Continue south on the other side of the road. Round the front of the next hill, through a ravine and around the next hill to a parking lot.
Orem Trailhead
(2.5 miles – paved)
Ride down the paved road past the water tank onto 800 N. Turn left onto 800 E and ride until you reach a large parking lot next to a gas station at the mouth of Provo Canyon.
Provo Canyon Trailhead
(3.5 miles – paved)
The trail follows the Provo River Parkway, a paved recreation trail up the canyon for 3.5 miles to Bridal Veil Falls.
Access
20th East Trailhead
Take I-15 to the 12300 S exit. Go east on 12300 S to 1300 E. Go south on 1300 E for one block, then go east at the roundabout onto Pioneer Rd. Follow Pioneer Rd. to 2000 E. Go south on 2000 E for 0.3 miles and park in a pullout on the left side of the road.
Equestrian Center Trailhead
Take I-15 to the 12300 S exit. Go east on 12300 S to 1300 E. Go south on 1300 E for one block, then go east at the roundabout onto Pioneer Rd. Follow Pioneer Rd. to 2000 E. Go south on 2000 E and it becomes Highland Dr. From the intersection with Pioneer Rd. travel 1.6 miles to the equestrian center. Park in the parking lot and take the trail up the ravine on the east side of Highland Dr.
Suncrest Trailhead
From I-15 take the Bangerter Highway exit. Follow Bangerter Highway east to where it becomes Traverse Ridge Rd. Continue on Traverse Ridge Rd. to Suncrest Dr. Follow Suncrest Dr. for 0.4 miles to the first bend. The trail is due east and may be complicated to find due to continuing construction.
Fort Canyon Trailhead
From I-15 take the Alpine/Highland exit. Go east on Highway 92 to the Alpine Highway. Turn left and follow the highway into the town of Alpine and along Main St. Continue north on Main St. onto Fort Canyon Rd. and continue to the end of the road.
Alpine Cove Trailhead
From I-15 take the Alpine/Highland exit. Go east on Highway 92 to the Alpine Highway. Turn left and follow the highway into the town of Alpine and along Main St. Turn right on 200 N and then left on 200 E. Follow 200 E north onto Grove Dr. and continue to Alpine Cove Dr. Go north on Alpine Cove Dr. for 0.4 miles to a dirt road on the left. Park along the side of the road.
Preston Canyon Trailhead
From I-15 take the Alpine/Highland exit. Go east on Highway 92 to the Alpine Highway. Turn left and follow the highway into the town of Alpine and along Main St. Turn right on 100 S, go east onto Village Way, turn right at Country Manor Ln. and left on Preston Dr. Take the second right and park in the circle. The trail heads southeast to the foot of the mountain.
American Fork Canyon Trailhead
From I-15 take the Alpine/Highland exit. Go east on Highway 92 to the mouth of American Fork Canyon. Before entering the canyon, park at a parking lot just east of a reservoir across the street from the golf course.
Cedar Hills Trailhead
From I-15 take the Alpine/Highland exit. Go east on Highway 92 to the mouth of American Fork Canyon. Before entering the canyon, turn right onto Highway 146, head south for 1.2 miles, and park at a pullout on the left side of the road.
Grove Creek Trailhead
From I-15 take the Pleasant Grove exit and go northeast on Pleasant Grove Blvd. At the intersection with State St. continue straight onto Center St. Turn left onto 100 E and then right on to Grove Creek Dr. Follow Grove Creek Dr. to where it ends at a small dirt parking area.
Battle Creek Trailhead
From I-15 take the Pleasant Grove exit and go northeast on Pleasant Grove Blvd. At the intersection with State St. continue straight onto Center St. Turn right onto 100 E and then left onto 200 S. Follow 200 S to where it ends at a small dirt parking area.
Dry Canyon Trailhead
From I-15 take the 1600 N exit and proceed east for 2.6 miles to Skyline Dr. Turn left and follow Skyline Dr. to Dry Canyon Dr. Turn right and park at the end of the road at a small dirt parking area.
Cascade Dr. Trailhead
From I-15 take the 1600 N exit and proceed east for 2.6 miles to Skyline Dr. Turn left and follow Skyline Dr. to 1810 N. Enter 1810 N and park in the circle.
Orem Trailhead
From I-15 take the 1600 N exit and proceed east to where 1600 N turns onto 800 E. At this corner turn left and climb a paved road to a water tank. Turn left at the end of the road and park in the small parking lot.
Provo Canyon Trailhead
From I-15 take the 800 N exit and proceed east on 800 N to the mouth of Provo Canyon. Just before entering the canyon, turn left and park in the parking lot on the south side of a gas station.
