Trail Work
All necessary tools and supervision will be provided, as well as a light breakfast and lunch to all participants. We will meet for a light breakfast and training session, and will work until 1:00 to narrow the trail and enlarge and improve erosion barriers. Bring gloves and wear long pants; closed toe sturdy boots or shoes are required. Water will be available, please bring your own water bottle. Participants must be over the age of 16 and in good physical health to participate in trail maintenance. Volunteers 12 years of age and older can participate in invasive weed removal. Please arrive early for mandatory safety training.
Invasive Plant Removal
Join the fight against invasive weeds in City Creek Canyon and the Salt Lake foothills. Invasive weeds are a threat to the ecosystem health for a myriad of reasons. Spend the morning pulling weeds in the beautiful hills. Organize a group of coworkers, friends, your community group or just come on your own! Training and tools are provided. Please dress appropriately for the weed pull, in work clothing you do not mind getting dirty. Be sure to bring water, sunscreen and get ready to have fun! Volunteers 12 years of age and older can participate in invasive weed removal. Please arrive early for mandatory safety training.
